Once again we join xGx for another episode of...
The Love Triangle
(I don't know what happened to the square)
The candidates for our heroine's furture and final love have dwindled down to 2. It's true - Rebekah still had feelings for Special Agent Fox Mulder; however, after weeks of waiting and not receiving another letter from the mysterious Swarms fanatic, she eventually gave up on him and moved on...
And, after receiving a darling letter from one of our two hunks...
Hugh Jackman
and
Ioan Gruffudd
...it appeared as though she had finally made her decision as to which one she would take.
That's right, our man Mr. Assertive sent her a letter that melted her heart:
Dear Rebekah,
Your little problem --
He's just been solved.
Always Assertive,
Hugh
"Oh, Hugh!" Rebekah swooned, "You're such a wonderful man! You knew how difficult this dilema was for me, so you solved the dilema for me. How romantic..." And, although Rebekah was just about to say those three little words "Marry me, Hugh" the loss of dear Ioan still lingered in the back of her mind, and she couldn't shake the feeling that all was not as it should be...
Her intuition turned out to be true, for the next day, she received 2 letters - one from each of the rivals. The first was from Hugh again, and it read:
I'm sorry babe,
Aparently [sic] your little problem isn't as solved as I thought he was. The guy turned out to be the human gumby - who knew. But I'll take care of him one way or another.

"Oh my goodness...Ioan is alive?" Rebekah's heart skipped a beat, and she smiled as she opened the letter from Ioan and noticed the beautiful flowers on the front of the card. "He's always so sensitive and considerate," Rebekah thought, and she read:
My Dearest Sweetheart,
I knew when I first met you that you had a dark and mysterious past, but I did not realize quite how dark and mysterious.
Recently, I was accosted on the streets of Beverly Hills by an angry wrathful beast of a man, and it was only through my quick wits that I escaped.
Are you in any danger, My Love? I know you don't want to see me anymore, but I fear for your safety. Just say the word and I'll wing my way to Binghamton in a moment.
With both concern and the deepest love,
Ioan
"Ioan, what a precious darling! Don't you know that I would adore to see you again?" Rebekah smiled and thought to herself, "If only he would take a little initiative. Can't he realize that he should know my heart? I can't just tell him to come whisk me away to Pleasure Land; he needs to be more assertive...like Hugh."
So, with both men still alive, and both still pining away for her love, Rebekah still could not decide which to take as her love.
Perhaps former boyfriends will turn up in the future, or perhaps one of the men will do something spectacular that will win her over. But, for now, she remains single...and whistful...
